Lainston House Hotel is a charming 17th Century country house set amongst 63 acres of beautiful Hampshire parkland near Winchester. As you sweep into the courtyard, delicate archways and loggias frame the picture perfect entrance and a small amble reveals a beautiful 12th Century chapel ruin and pretty dovecote.
Having provided wedding photography at Lainston House I can honestly say that the hotel and the grounds are immaculate. I actually visited the venue the day before the wedding to check on the lighting situation at a certain time of the day and the gardeners were out sweeping the leaves and moving the lawn and I could see numerous staff busy preparing the flowers and other finishing touches for the wedding the following day. The rooms and hallways in Lainston House are stunning. Sometimes beautiful buildings are not always kept up so well on the inside but this is certainly not the case here… traditional charm with a twist of modern touches make Lainston House a truly wonderful wedding venue. Impressive yet understated. The staff are also to be commended – some of the best service you will come across and the attention to detail is second to none. Oh, and one more thing… the food is absolutely divine! Lainston House grow some of their fresh produce on site resulting in fresh and tasty results every time.
If you choose to marry at Lainston House, your wedding ceremony and wedding reception will take place in the Dawley Barn which is situated to the left of the main house as you look at it from the front. This can be reaches via a long corridor with with stone floor and windows all along. This looks especially pretty with tea light candles placed along the edge of the floor on both sides, providing an elegant walk way to and from the Dawley Barn. Should you wish to wow your guests with something a little different during your wedding ceremony, Mumble, the ring-bearing Chaco Owl can be hired to fly your wedding rings down the aisle to you.
